In short
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services and loads no content from other servers. There are no Google fonts and no embedded maps or videos. Only if you add the site to your home screen as an app does your device store the prayer times so you can use them without internet (offline storage, see below). No information about you is stored in the process. You can visit this website without giving any information about yourself.
Controller
Islamische Gemeinde Wilhelmsburg e.V., Rotenhäuser Straße 104A, 21107 Hamburg, email: info@igw-ayasofya.de. The association is represented by its board (see Impressum (German)).
Hosting and server logs
This website and our mailbox info@igw-ayasofya.de are hosted by Alfahosting GmbH, Edmund-von-Lippmann-Straße 13–15, 06112 Halle (Saale). The data centre is in Leipzig, Germany.
When you open the site, your browser sends technically necessary data to our web server. These are your IP address, the date and time, the address you opened, the amount of data transferred, your browser and operating system, and the page you visited before. We store this data in log files to keep the site running and secure, for example to detect attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not combine this data with other data. After 24 hours the IP address is shortened (the last part is set to zero). The logs are deleted after 7 days at the latest.
The connection to this website is encrypted (https).
Offline storage
You can add this site to your phone’s home screen like an app. Only then, so only at your express request, does your device store a copy of public content. This lets the site and the prayer times show even without an internet connection. It stores the home page, the prayer times, pages you have visited, fonts and app icons (no photos). No information about you is stored, and nothing is sent back to us. This storage is strictly necessary for the offline function you asked for (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). A normal visit in the browser does not create any offline storage. You can delete it at any time by removing the app from your home screen or by deleting the site data in your browser.
Contact by email
If you write to us, we only use your details to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). An enquiry to a mosque community may reveal a religious belief. We only process such details as part of our work as a religious community and do not pass them on to anyone outside (Art. 9(2)(d) GDPR). So please only tell us what is needed for your request. We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with and no legal retention periods apply.
For the education department we give the address Ayasofyaegitim@outlook.de. This mailbox is run by Microsoft (Outlook.com). Microsoft may also process emails in the USA. Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the EU Commission has found an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). If you don’t want this, please write to info@igw-ayasofya.de or call the education department.
Request form
You can send us a request through the “Requests and appointments” form, for example for a guided tour, an appointment with an imam, a wedding, a Mevlid or after a death. We only process the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, preferred date and your message. We use them only to deal with and answer your request. A request to a mosque community can reveal something about your religious beliefs. That is why we ask for your express consent. You give it by ticking the box before sending (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR, and also Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where an appointment is being arranged). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by emailing info@igw-ayasofya.de.
Required fields are marked with *. We need them to deal with your request. Without them we cannot reply. Please only give details about other people (for example for a nikah) if they know about it.
Our web server forwards your request by email to our mailbox info@igw-ayasofya.de. There the responsible people in our community read it and, if needed, pass it on to the right person, for example one of our imams. We do not send an automatic confirmation email. We do not store requests in a database on the website. We delete the emails once your request has been dealt with and no legal retention periods apply.
To protect against automatically sent spam, the form contains a field that people cannot see. It also checks how quickly it was filled in. In addition, the server counts how many requests came from the same connection in the last hour. For this it stores a checksum of the IP address for one hour at most. The address cannot be read directly from this checksum (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No cookies are set for this and no services from other providers are used.
Donations and donation receipts
If you transfer a donation to us, your bank sends us your name, your account details, the amount and the payment reference. If you ask us for a donation receipt (Zuwendungsbestätigung), we also process your address. We use this information for our accounts and to issue the receipt (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We keep it for as long as tax law requires (Section 147 AO, Section 50(7) EStDV). We only pass it on to the tax office if the tax office asks for it.
Links to other sites
This site links to sites of other providers, for example big-nord.de, igmg.org, hasene.org, openstreetmap.org, and to our channels on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp (Meta). Your browser only connects to the provider once you click such a link. Their privacy policy applies there. Meta also processes data in the USA.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your data, and the right to data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Please contact the address given above.
Right to object. Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, for example the server logs), you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). In Hamburg this is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Hamburgischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
